Some tools travel from one project to the next until, somewhere along the way, they simply become part of how we make. A Field Note about the little things that quietly earn their place.

What do we carry home from the places that stay with us? A reflection on Wyoming, small keepsakes, and the things that quietly hold a sense of place.

Some projects outgrow the little bag without needing the whole tote. The 3-Skein Project Bag was made for that comfortable space in between.

Some colors don't demand attention.

They simply feel like home.

Sagebrush has a quiet kind of beauty. It's the silver-green backdrop to so much of Wyoming, the scent after a summer rain, and the steady presence that reminds us not everything remarkable has to be loud.

Our latest Field Notes explores the inspiration behind the Sagebrush colorway and why some of our favorite colors are the ones that quietly stay with us.

Some things make perfect sense the moment you see them.

This little tin was one of the very first notions I chose for Copper Crow.

Not because it was practical, although it is.

Not because it was handmade, although that mattered too.

Because it simply said what Copper Crow has been about from the very beginning.

Keep the shiny things.

Crows have a reputation for collecting bright, interesting objects. Whether every story about them is true hardly matters. What matters is the idea behind it.

Notice what catches your eye.

Keep what delights you.

Build a collection that tells your story.

Making is a little like that.

Every project leaves behind tiny treasures: stitch markers, tapestry needles, progress keepers, tiny scissors, measuring tapes, row counters, scraps of beautiful yarn you'll probably never use but can't quite part with. They gather in bowls, project bags, jacket pockets, and the corners of knitting baskets until they become little collections of their own.

A good notions tin simply gives those small treasures a home.

This one just happens to do it with a wink.

It's sturdy enough to toss into a project bag, small enough to tuck into a purse, and charming enough to make you smile every time you reach for another stitch marker.

Sometimes the smallest tools are the ones you use the most.

And sometimes the things we keep aren't valuable because they're rare.

They're valuable because they've become part of the making.

Crow Note

Keep the shiny things.
Not because they sparkle.
Because they remind you what first caught your attention.
