Field Notes: Grand Prismatic

Some places almost don't seem real.

Photographs help.

They hint at the colors.

Steam drifts across the water. The wind shifts. The colors appear, disappear, and return again. Brilliant blues fade into emerald greens before giving way to rings of gold, rust, and copper. It feels less like looking at a landscape and more like watching the earth breathe.

Grand Prismatic Spring reminds us that the natural world is capable of astonishing beauty.

This yarn reminds me of that same feeling.
